Terms of Service
Last updated 24 August 2026
Who this is between
These terms are between you, or the organisation you sign up on behalf of, and the operator of Askably. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you have the authority to bind it.
What the service does
Askably hosts an assistant that answers questions on your website using material you supply. You upload documents or point it at pages you control, and it draws its answers from that material.
Answers are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, even when the underlying material is correct. You are responsible for what your assistant tells your visitors, and you should not use it as the sole source for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical advice.
The trial
New workspaces get the Growth tier for fourteen days without a card. When the trial ends the workspace moves to the free tier, which is capped and shows our name on the assistant panel. Nothing is deleted and your assistant keeps answering. You are never charged automatically at the end of a trial.
Paying
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance in US dollars, and you can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the month in progress, and your workspace stays on its current plan until that month ends.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, which acts as merchant of record and handles applicable sales tax and VAT. Their terms cover the payment transaction itself. We never see or store your card details.
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will look at it in good faith.
Plan limits and fair use
Each plan includes stated limits on assistants, sites, replies, and indexed content. When a limit is reached the assistant stops answering new questions until the next billing period or an upgrade; it does not silently start billing you more.
Where a plan describes something as unlimited, that means we do not set a numeric cap, not that there is no limit at all. Usage far outside normal patterns for the plan, or use that degrades the service for others, is something we will contact you about before taking any action.
Plans are sold per organisation. Reselling access to businesses beyond the client allowance of your plan requires the Agency tier or an arrangement with us.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us permission to store and process it only to the extent needed to run the service for you: indexing it, retrieving relevant parts of it, and passing those parts to a model to produce an answer.
We do not use your content to train models. We do not sell it and we do not share it with anyone other than the providers described in our privacy policy.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or contain material you are not permitted to share.
What you may not do
Do not use the service to break the law, to impersonate someone, to publish content you have no right to, or to run an assistant that deceives the people talking to it about what it is. Do not attempt to gain access to other customers’ data, disrupt the service, or work around plan limits by technical means.
We may suspend a workspace that is doing any of these, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages, and faults happen. We do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee, and you should not rely on the assistant being the only way your visitors can reach you.
Ending it
You can cancel or delete your workspace at any time from the dashboard. Deleting a workspace removes its content and cannot be undone.
We may end your access if you materially break these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering it, we will give reasonable notice and refund any period you have paid for but not received.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business, or the consequences of an answer your assistant gave.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
